Get ready for HETT – Stand prep
How to set up your stand ready for HETT 2019
Whether you are an exhibition veteran or first-time exhibitor the basics should never be forgotten. Read this blog for a rundown of essential tips that will help you on your way to HETT success.
Preparation checklist for everything you need on site:
Connect with (us) the organisers
On build up day, we recommend that you introduce yourself to the organisers and have any questions prepared, ready to ask. This will ensure we know you and can act quickly if you need any assistance while setting up your stand.
Find us in the Organisers Office
The organiser’s office on-site at the ExCel is located in room S2A Lower. HETT team member contacts details can be found here: hettshow.co.uk/contact
Organise seating for visitors
Think how long exhibition attendees have to spend on their feet. You may want to hire a small table and chairs so that visitors can take a seat during meetings and presentations on your stand.
Order furniture for HETT via the exhibitor portal
Or contact our contracted furniture suppliers direct:

Every exhibitor needs a way to collect attendee details. Many will use the method of scanning badges.
At HETT you have two options:
- Handheld data scanners – These scanners are easy to use; you’ll be sent scanned visitor data at the end of each day.
- Mobile Scanners – These scanners are slightly slower to use but you’ll receive real-time data collection onsite.
If you would like to book a scanner, please complete the order form here.
Encourage social sharing – amplify your stand by adding an element that will encourage social sharing.
This could be a giveaway with a social element, a funky booth that people will want to photograph, a social competition, or a surprising celebrity guest or personality from the health tech sector on your stand.
Engagement and follow up – most importantly, make sure you truly engage and listen to visitor prospects onsite and take notes. This will allow you to follow up post-event with a sincere and targeted communication where you can demonstrate how your solution can eliminate their challenges.
Marketing ideas for standing out during HETT 2019
What can you do to stand out during a tradeshow and attract more visitors? Here, we share some ideas:
Offer a giveaway – A lot of money is spent on promo gifts that don’t relate to the message or brand. These often end up on the floor of the exhibition or forgotten in a desk drawer. If you want to give branded merchandise out as gifts, choose something relevant and memorable – and make sure you have professional marketing collateral to hand out with it, to jog the attendee’s memory.
Promoting these giveaways before the event will help to increase engagement with your brand, support interest in the event, and increase footfall to your stand.
Provide an exclusive event-only promotion – anything exclusive will help you to stand out amongst other exhibitors. This might be a special discount code or a chance for some free consultancy with your expert team.
Launch a product – if you have a new feature, a re-brand or a new service coming up, use this launch to stand out during the event. Industry press is often sent to cover new products at the show and may feature you in tradeshow-related coverage. Tell us about your product launch via the marketing manual and we can post your press release or product information via the HETT website.
Submit a press release or case-study
We’ll post all exhibitor press releases and news for free on our website to give you that extra boost of visibility in the run-up to HETT.
Use branding – your stand is a chance for you to have a branded space and bring your brand to life. Make the most of custom graphics, roller banners, and wall art to stand out.
Graphic information for HETT shell scheme exhibitors can be found here.
Organise a guest appearance – having a guest on your booth will allow you to begin advertising early and to encourage visitors to make a beeline for your stand once at the show rather than anyone else.
Create a competition – an on-stand tournament, gaming session or the chance to enter a competition will help increase your stand presence with visitors. Even better if you can announce the winner(s) during the tradeshow as a mini-presentation.
