25-35% of urgent and emergency care (UEC) is avoidable, costing the NHS some £6bn annually.

This is the first presentation of preliminary results from a national randomised control trial started in 2015, in collaboration with the Nuffield Trust and 7 NHS Acute Trusts.

With 1,700 patients recruited to our NIHR portfolio registered study to date (NIHR number CPMS 19857) we are joined by partners from the NHS and Nuffield Trust to present evidence of our impact.

The presentation reports on UEC consumption, patient self-reported outcomes, survival and health economic benefits
