    • Fitbit helps people lead healthier, more active lives by empowering them with data, inspiration and guidance to reach their goals.
    • Solera is an integrated benefit network that matches individuals at high risk for type-2 diabetes with the best-fit digital or community-based DPP that meets each person’s needs.
    • In January 2017, Solera partnered with Fitbit to offer free Fitbit devices to DPP participants who remained engaged after four weeks. The goals were to stay engaged for longer; increase physical activity; help more people reach 5% weight loss
    • Baseline data was collected through an initial survey to determine eligibility. Data on weight loss and weekly activity levels were collected throughout the year-long program.
    • This study evaluated whether redemption of a Fitbit device was associated with higher activity levels and greater weight loss compared to the cohort that did not redeem a Fitbit.
