The HETT Unexpected Innovation Awards will return this November 2022 to celebrate the very best in experimental design, collaboration, and leadership in digital healthcare.
23rd November | The Tower Hotel, London
The evening will showcase champions of digital health innovation and highlight great stories of transformation witnessed in the past year. The awards are designed to bring together the health and care ecosystem, to hear best practice examples that inspire more to do the same.

The Digital Team of the Year award celebrates the achievements of collaborative and multidisciplinary teams who have demonstrated excellence in the deployment of digital services and transformation, positively impacting patient and staff outcomes to deliver unexpected and unprecedented results within their area of health tech innovation.
The Unexpected Innovator of the year award will highlight nominees who have been synonymous in driving forward great change in digital healthcare leading to significant impact for patient outcomes or services.
This award recognises projects adopting a digital-first model in the provision of primary care. Nominees will have taken a person-centred approach to delivering this project, incorporating the core attributes of general practice: continuity, coordination and community focus.
The Disruptive Technology Award recognises the most daring success stories in innovation. This award will shine a light on the most creative and disruptive health tech solutions revolutionising patient care this past year.
The Integrated Care Collaboration award recognises the collaborative projects, directives, and initiatives that demonstrate the power that integrated care has to offer. Nominees can demonstrate their strategy’s capacity to deliver integrated care that problem solves by engaging partners throughout the system.
The User-centered Design Award highlights the individuals or teams who have demonstrated outstanding innovation and user-centered design (UCD) for digital tools, systems, or services delivered across primary, secondary, or community care.
The Digital Service for children and young people award recognises excellence in digital service provision designed for children, young people and their families.
The Data Innovation award recognises digital product or services that can demonstrate measurable impacts and outcomes delivered in big data projects over the last year.
The Best Digital Innovation in Mental Health award showcases industry leading services or solutions pioneering in the provision of digitally-enabled mental healthcare.
The Best Designed Virtual Service award showcases teams who deliver to exceptional standard demonstrating user-centred design at a practical service level. Supporting patients to be seen in a virtual setting that meets the needs of the patient, practitioner and the system.
The Trojan Mouse award seeks to highlight an individual who has made impactful and meaningful changes through a steady and incremental approach to digital transformation. Their dedication and focus enables an agile approach to innovation and for teams and organisations to adapt to optimise new ways of working.
Nominees will demonstrate their dedication to adapting and supporting their workforce to thrive in digitally enabled health and care settings. Best practice application of tools and use of resources to simplify and streamline workforce processes. Meaningful engagement with digital upskilling and continued development for all areas of the workforce from frontline nurses, senior consultants, to back-office admin.
