Leading on the Yorkshire and Humber Patient Safety Collaborative, remote monitoring and virtual wards, Gemma ensures the programmes are delivered in conjunction with partners and stakeholders across the region. Building on the great work by the AHSN so far, Gemma is keen to share the learning from her team and advocates for innovation across all work programmes. Delivering the best services for patients and the public is central to Gemma’s working ethos and she is a keen supporter of mental health and stroke charities using her lived experience.
Prior to the AHSN, Gemma was with the NHS Confederation for 12 years, leading national programmes on inclusive recruitment, retention, community engagement and staff experience. Working on commissions from the Ministry of Defence, Health Education England, NHS England and NHS Improvement plus the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Gemma led the development of an Armed Forces recruitment programme which involved over 100 NHS organisations across England and Wales and helped over 1000 members of the Armed Forces community find sustainable employment within the NHS.
