Harold Thimbleby

See Change Fellow in Digital Health - Swansea University

Prof Harold Thimbleby is See Change Fellow in Digital Health at Swansea University, Wales; he is also visiting professor at UCL, London, and an emeritus Professor of Geometry, Gresham College (the oldest UK chair in mathematics). He has just published his book Fix IT: See and solve the problems of digital healthcare (Oxford University Press).

Harold is a popular speaker who has given over 600 invited talks in 30 different countries. He is an internationally recognised computer scientist who campaigns for improving digital healthcare.

Harold is a Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales, an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, etc, an advocate for the Clinical Human Factors Group. He has been an investigator and expert witness in industrial and NHS cases involving IT, and has helped keep many healthcare professionals out of prison; he has also provided expert evidence in other IT cases, such as asylum seekers and the UK Post Office scandal — which prosecuted 732 people for alleged fraud that was in fact caused by computer bugs.
