Tom Palser

Senior Fellow in Major Trauma, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Clinical Lead, Methods Analytics

Dr Tom splits his time between clinical and managerial roles within the NHS and being Clinical Lead at Methods Analytics.  He has a Doctorate in assessing the quality of surgical care and was appointed as Associate Medical Director for Quality Assurance within 10 months of starting his post as a Consultant Emergency Surgeon in Leicester.

In this role he was responsible for devising and implementing a new QA system that integrates multiple different data sources and produces a comprehensive picture of service quality.  He also works closely with the Trust’s strategy team on areas such as improving equity and integrating AI / Robotic Process Automation into the trust’s systems.

He is at one of the largest hospital trusts in Europe.

Dr Tom is an honorary senior lecturer at University of Leicester Medical School. For three years he worked full-time as part of the team that set up the National Oesophago-Gastric Cancer Audit which remains the largest prospective audit of the disease in the world.
