Liz helped to set up the Innovation Agency, part of the AHSN Network, and became its chief executive six years ago. She works to improve health, spread innovation and build the life sciences economy in the North.
She has built a strong programme of collaborations regionally, nationally and through European partnerships; and she has a strong interest in stroke prevention.
She is Health and Life Sciences Board member for Liverpool Local Enterprise Partnership and co-chair of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Health Services Research and Delivery Services Dissemination Centre.
Until April 2019 Liz represented the national network of AHSNs on the board of the Accelerated Access Collaborative, which oversees the spread of innovations.
Liz has held a number of executive roles in NHS organisations following 17 years in local government. She holds a doctorate in Business Administration from Yale, Harvard, INSEAD and Derby University.
The Innovation Agency is the Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) for the North West Coast, one of 15 AHSNs covering England.
