As CIO at Salford Royal NHS Trust, I was ultimately responsible for the implementation of a first of type Electronic Patient Record system. Shortly afterwards Salford Royal was judged the most digitally advanced in the NHS.
As Executive CIO at UHSM, I sat on the Board. While there I delivered significant improvements to the outdated infrastructure (new data centre / wireless network / replaced 1000 PCs / greatly improved service desk). I also procured and then implemented an Electronic Patient Records system in an organisation that had no EPR.
I am passionate about the potential for well-implemented technology to improve the safety and reliability of patient care. Over my 14 years as a CIO I have successfully delivered several huge organisational-wide programmes of change that have delivered precisely that.
