A transformation consultant, strategic advisor for digital healthcare and chief information officer who has worked in both the NHS and the wider public sector, Nicola is a member of the HETT Committee. She is also on the HeathCare Executive Committee at the IET, Executive Strategic Advisor (Healthcare and Education) for the Immersion Group, CDIO at Seacole Digital and Co-founder and Managing Director, on a pro-bono basis, of Tech4CV19.
Nicola started her career as an engineer, providing digitally enabled solutions across a wide selection of industries from concert halls to offshore platforms, before moving to the public sector where her analytical, digital information and leadership skills were employed to enable public sector transformation, working for unitary authorities and universities before joining the NHS as chief information officer of Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust. She subsequently held a number of NHS CIO and transformation posts, including chair of both the Yorkshire and Humber PSN Partnership Board and the LHCRE Co-Design Authority, Digital Director of South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Integrated Care System and CIO of Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust.
As a life long carer, she is passionate about citizen centred service design, and the application of technology for the greater group. Many of the solutions that she led the design and delivery of, have been innovative and the first of their kind. Her experience and background means that she brings a broad, public sector experience to all digital health and care discussions, well as a knowledge of the different digital challenges faced by acute trusts, mental health trusts, social care and the emerging integrated care services.
